Consistigoblins
Written at: 10:34 02 Mar, 2005
A rather unusual confluence of indie rock and butchered platitudes occurred yesterday, and I found myself singing, to the tune of The Shins' "Kissing the Lipless" the following phrase: "and secretly, consistigoblins in the yard".
Consistigoblins, of course, being the small things that live in hobminds. Sure, it makes no sense, but have you read the lyrics to that song?

Of course I've read the lyrics to that song. And, actually, I think it's pretty straightforward. And why wasn't I informed of this end of hiatus? grmpfl.

I think I was a little gun-shy about making any announcements about hiatus or lack thereof, given the last time you and I had this discussion. I'm still not promising to continue at a blog-like pace on what I suppose I'll call my blog (given the URL I gave it). I do appreciate the ability it affords me to jot down for the whole world little stories or ideas I had. But I hate the demands of actual blogging, so it's unlikely this space will ever become much. That said, I am hoping to change the superficial appearance of the blog, and several other things around here. And my real goal is to turn Cockahoop.com into a site where most of my creative (or "would-be creative", if you like) work is on display. Like a portfolio, except without all the quality. The "screenplays" are just the first step in that direction. I think you'll agree it's a bold step forward, moving beyond the concept of "blog" by postmodernly reappropriating the concept of a static Web page with just ... stuff ... on it (a la my old Aracnet page). I thank you for your support during this difficult time for my Web site. Also, it would seem that this comment functionality could use some help. Hmm.

I'm so excited you're back! I can finally add the 'hoop back to my "Daily" favorites section in Internet Explorer, brought to me by Microsoft.
