[untitled #515]

Sometimes I find sentences in news articles that are difficult to parse. Consider the following sentence from an article on the Supreme Court's ... um, something about medical marijuana.

"Without comment, the court refused to hear the Bush administration's challenge of a ruling last year by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit that upheld a federal district court injunction blocking Washington's efforts to prevent doctors from telling patients marijuana might help them."

Egads! Who did what now? In that one sentence, we are told what six different entities did or think about medical marijuana. But the first time I read it, all I got out of it was, "... wha?"
